Agreed, small price to pay if the only other alternative is a roll back.
I suspect it's an exploit somehow. Maybe, Get a gem set, bring the swap window out, trade it with someone else and then craft the item leaving the gems intact. No idea. But a few days ago there was a post here claiming a dupe program that would do armbraces, it was removed PDQ but I remember seeing it.

Could this be the result of neither ebay gold or dupes but rather some players running their own bots for personal ingame profit? If gold sellers run bots to make real cash then why couldn't individuals run bots to obtain wealth for high-end in-game purchases? Anet might be so incredibly inefficient in catching bots that this is happening regularly.

atlas, im guessing uve never been to mallyx or such... that area is very changing, and botting would be almost impossible from my experiences.
And a full month roll-back would be insane... and i wouldnt expect it, i would expect, and love to see, mas bans

Makes sence, somhow they dupe this items. Relising they are gonna get a perma ban they offer huge ammounts of armbraces for pet-A therefor they think they are safe because they have ditched the blood coverd cash or w/e.

Go check out the Buy Forum. There's some very QQ WTB threads there.
This is disturbing. I've been seeing the same gold seller in Kamadan for a month. I'm sure they've been banned multiple times, but they just keep coming back.
I feel awful for Anet's team trying to chase all these bots/problems/gold sellers down. But looking at this discussion, it looks like something has gone insane.

Lol, I went there too. They're like clones. Maybe someone found a black-FoW-wammo-duping hax?

Who knows, but I think even bots would have a difficult time matching these figures.

it would be easier, to ban all who have 400+ armbraces got within a day... not with trading, I mean from nothing - farmed or from trader :x

this problem has apparently been around for the past month or so. if thats the case, there is no way that anet can do anything about it.
i think it would be next to impossible for anet to track down all the armbraces in the game that were somehow duped/glitched/whatever in order to ban players.

My guess; Mallyx quest bugged allowing players to accept the reward multiple times allowing them to get stacks of gems then exchanging those for ambraces (since there is a spirit of truth right there beside Mallyx's corpse).

It seems they're all offering really high prices on minipets/crystallines probably just so they can dupe them and make ALOT more money..

Well they could just change all the armbraces into chitin fragments, they have changed items before right? But then people who have deped them might be making weapons, or just buying pandas or w/e. So it would be really unfair on the honest people with the arm braces and the people who did it would probs get away. So either the exploit or whatever it is is fixed or we do a one month rollback... Either way i would boycott armbraces for now and hope a-net fixes the exploit and temporaraly removes the trader who transfers them into weapons. Hope this isnt beond a fix .

Not what I was getting at. Botting wherever the botting has been good for the last year type of people could have very easily attained that level of wealth to buy the armbraces themselves. A place to park their ill gotten money. Thanks also for guessing that I have never been to Mallyx or such, but you would be wrong.

Either that, or the coding for the Coffers was unintentionally altered making the chance of an Armbrace greater.

Maybe but I think we'd all know about it soon enough if that was the case. People generally tell their friends and guildies if they have such luck.
